THE SUCCESS OF ARTIFICAL INSEMINATION (AI) WITH DIFFERENT TIME INSEMINATION IN LIMOUSIN COW IN DONOMULYO MALANG

This study was conducted from April to November 2016 on a farm in Malang District Area Donomulyo. This study aims to determine how high the success rate of artificial insemination with a different insemination in cow

Limousin. The research material is frozen semen from the Limousin cow of BBIB Singosari and 60 breeding Limousin cow were taken by purposive sampling with criteria: healthy livestock, been childless (1-4 lactation period), not pregnant, Body Condition Score (BCS) between 2 -2,25 with BCS grade 1-5, normal estrus cycle. The method used is to conduct field trials with a treatment at the AI time desire to 0, 6, 12 and 18 hours with each treatment 15 replicates. Research variables measured were NRR, CR, S/C. Research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi-square. Based on the results of chi-square analysis showed that there is no significant effect (P>0,05) to the level of success of AI, but the descriptive analysis of the results showed that at the time of insemination to 18 hours showed the best results supported by data NRR using frozen semen of 87%, the rate of CR by 87%, whereas the number S/C is low of 1,1 indicating that high livestock fertility. The conclusion of this study is the time of insemination to 18 hours gives the best success rates in Limousin cow in the district of Malang Regency Donomulyo. It is advisable to increase the success of insemination using AI time ranges from 12-18 hours after estrus early signs appear, need to improve knowledge of estrus detection by the farmer community to be aware of signs of lust with the right, as well as the need to do further research for the AI phase application times of lust different distances observations every three hours.
