Pemanfaatan Ekosistem Pantai Sausumangka sebagai Laboratorium Alam Dan Ruang Belajar Kontekstual Bagi Mahasiswa

The utilization of coastal areas as learning resources is still not optimal in geography learning practices, despite its great potential in integrating ecological, social, and spatial aspects. This study aims to examine the utilization of the Sausumangka Coastal Ecosystem as a natural laboratory and contextual learning space for students. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with the location at Sausumangka Beach, Sausumangka Village, Central Buton Regency. The research subjects included coastal area managers and students involved in field learning activities. Data collection was conducted through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions with technical triangulation. The results of the study indicate that Sausumangka Beach has high potential as a natural laboratory through its physical characteristics of the coast, biota diversity, and community socio-economic activities. Utilizing the beach as a learning space can encourage students to link theoretical concepts with real phenomena in the field. This study provides a new perspective by emphasizing the integration between coastal ecological potential and supporting learning facilities in creating a contextual learning experience that is more adaptive to technological developments.
