Abstrak
Dongeng-dongeng Tantri mengandung banyak simbol dan perlambang. Tingkah laku binatang dalam dongeng tersebut melambangkan perilaku manusia. Simbol dan perlambang itulah yang digunakan pendongeng untuk mengajarkan karakter pada pendengarnya. Dalam hal ini, guru sebagai pendongeng, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung ingin mengajarkan karakter pada siswanya melalui penggambaran perilaku binatang dalam dongeng tantri. Dongeng tantri terkenal sebagai dongeng yang ringan, baik alur ceritanya maupun pesan yang ingin disampaikan. Hal ini tentu sangat cocok bila diberikan pada siswa SD yang daya tangkapnya memang masih minim. Tulisan ini akan mengupas karakter dan pesan yang terkandung dalam dongeng tanri kamandaka yang nantinya akan diajarkan pada siswa SD.

Abstract
Tantric tales contain many symbols and symbolism. The behavior of the animals in these tales symbolizes human behavior. The symbol and the symbol that is used to teach character storyteller on his audience. In this case, the teacher as storyteller, either directly or indirectly wanted to teach students through the depiction of the characters on the behavior of animals in a fairy tale tantri. Tantri famous fairy tale as the tale light, both the plot and the message to be conveyed. This is very suitable when administered to elementary school students tangkapnya power is still minimal. This paper will explore the character and the message contained in Tanri Kamandaka fairy tale that will be taught to elementary students.
