Developing PISA-Like Mathematics Problems Using the Context of Islamic Architecture for Junior High School Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to produce a set of PISA-like mathematics problems set in an Islamic-architecture context that is both valid and practical for junior high school students. A development-research design was applied, with 32 ninth-grade students of SMPN 01 Payaraman serving as participants. Data were collected through walkthroughs, interviews, and tests. The results show that (1) the PISA-like problems grounded in Islamic architecture satisfied the validity criteria, confirmed through the self-evaluation and expert-review phases covering content, construction, and language; and (2) the problems proved practical, as demonstrated by interview and observation data gathered during the one-to-one, small-group, and field-test phases.
