Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran olahraga sebagai media dalam mempromosikan nilai-nilai Olimpiade (Olympism) dilihat dari aspek etika. Terutama pada generasi milenial saat ini yang notabene masih belum memahami mengenai nilai-nilai olimpiade dalam penerapannya dikehidupan sehari-hari yang bermanfaat khususnya pada perspektif etika. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, Sumber data berupa: manusia, peristiwa dan dokumen dengan tahapan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu (1) tahap pengumpulan data; (2) reduksi data; (3) penyajian; serta (4) penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil temuan yang didapatkan peneliti, bahwa aspek etika bisa didapatkan melalui olahraga yaitu dengan mempromosikan nilai-nilai olimpiade yang terdiri dari Friendship (persahabatan), Excellence (keunggulan), Respect (rasa hormat). Dari nilai-nilai olimpiade tersebut ditemukan bahwa olahraga menjadi media yang sangat penting dalam menanamkan etika bagi kaum muda khususnya dalam perkembangan kehidupan yang lebih baik. Disamping itu, dengan olahraga sebagai media tentunya menjadi hal yang sangat mudah diakses dalam penanaman etika. Kebaruan dalam penelitian ini bahwa pendidikan etika bisa diberikan melalui olahraga yang bernilai Olympism.
